Dumble - Pojačalo Koje Nikada Nećemo Imati

Nedavno sam naleteo na ->jako dobar komentar kolege SuperReverb2-a sa FDPa<-, a koji se tiče Dumble-klonova poznate (i cenjene) malezijske kompanije Ceriatone, koji osvetljava ono što tehničari zovu "pikovanje" pojačala a mi neupućeni "Dumble magija":

"The Ceriatone Overtone Special as shipped STOCK is NOT a very good example of an 80's Dumble amp or clone. I owned one of the first 30 made, and sold it after a week. As Nik has discovered, building a Dumble amp (or clone) is a MUCH larger undertaking than simply "cloning" a de-gooped 80's Dumble, gleaning information from other builders and techs on The Amp Garage, or copying posted schematics. If that were the case, EVERYBODY would be building one and getting it right.
The amp as shipped stock sounds just "OK", and needs some serious aftermarket tweaking by a qualified tech to reach it's full potential. If you are looking for a bargain Robben Ford - Larry Carlton amp, or even a bargain "D" style amp with the famous Dumble mids, note bloom, and low end rumble, you'll most likely want to look elsewhere, as NONE of that is in this amp as shipped stock from Nik. Next, this amp comes stock with the CRAPPY passive effects loop that can be found in all 80's style Dumble amps, so if you are a reverb, delay, effects type of person, (a must with this type of amp) you will need a Dumbleator (or clone) to make any effects unit work with this amp. A GOOD Dumbleator will run $1000.00 US or the Rodenberg Flexloop 3D (which is OK) will run you $681.00 US. Trying to run anything in the stock loop, and that includes the VERY good Lexicon PCM 70 I have, just doesn't work, thus the reason Howard Dumble invented the Dumbleator in the first place. Also, the clips on You Tube that do in fact sound VERY good, are NOT done with a stock Ceriatone Overtone Special. The amp that was used in those clips has had some aftermarket tweaking done to the circuit, etc., in order to make it sound like that. The STOCK Ceriatone Overtone Special does NOT sound anything like the amp in the clips. If anybody has any doubts about this fact, I have saved the pictures I took of the circuit board that was in my Ceriatone Overtone Special, and when compared to the pictures of the board in the amp that was used on those clips, one can CLEARLY see the mods/changes that were done to the circuit.

Please, I'm NOT trying to bad mouth Nik or dump all over his products, as he does make some GREAT sounding amps at incredible prices. I have played some of his Vox and Marshall clones and they are VERY good. Those that have played and owned his Trainwreck clones say they are VERY good (close) as well. Unfortunately, with a Dumble style amp, simply building the amp is just the beginning as these amps NEED to be tweaked to the players style - touch - guitar, etc., for them to reach their full potential. Howard Dumble was famous for "summoning" his clients to his house as their amp(s) neared completion so he could "tweak" the amp to that particular players style and gear, thus the reason that pretty much all 200 or so Dumbles out there in the world today sound different from one another. Thus the reason that most Dumble clones sound different from each other as well depending on what year Dumble they copied, what tone stack configuration was used, or what "style" they have geared their particular clone to emulate. Dumble amps have changed drastically from the 70's through the 80's to the 90's, with the 90's HRM (Hot Rubber Monkey) post tones stack EQ amps sounding nothing like 70's or 80's style amps. Simply copying an 80's style Dumble amp (#125 I believe) and expecting it to be all things Dumble is a pipe dream.
Does the Ceriatone Overtone Special offer a decent platform to go forward from at $950.00? Yes it does, as the build quality and components used are quite good. Bear in mind though, that IMHO the Ceriatone Overtone Special needs MUCH more than a 5% tweak (more like 40% - 50%) to reach what some of the other "D" style builders have achieved. (Fuchs, Two-Rock, Bludotone, and Glaswerks to name a few) I have ZERO affiliation with any of those companies."

dajte Peci samo minimalna sredstva za istrazivanja - secem svoju glavu ako Peca ne provali
sve tajne Dumble pojacala ................ ma ja odmah njemu dajem za 40 watno pojacalo 3.000 !!!!!!! top teil !!!

Nemam nista ni protiv tebe ni protiv Pece ali uskoro vise necu tolerisati ovakve postove sa tvoje strane. Shvatam ja da si srecan sto ti stize pojacalo, jeste treba pomoci ljudima koji se bave tim stvarima kod nas , sve je to lepo. Ali molim te otvori novu temu o njegovim pojacalima pa tamo pisi svoje impresije (mada mislim da tema vec postoji). Ovo je kao da u temi o fenderu neko pocne da pise o nekom Miletu iz Novog Sada...i umesa tu Teslu i Edisona.
Ne bi mi ni upalo u oci ovo da danas nisi slicno uradio u jos nekoliko tema. Necu da gledam na to ni kao spam, ni reklamu , ali hocu kao na skretanje sa teme. Ako se nastavi onda to prelazi u spam.. i reklamiranje. Pogledaj pravilnk, molim te. http://muzicki-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=16
U pravilniku pise i o "rafalnom" postovanju. Ako zaboravis nesto da napises imas dugme IZMENI u gornjem desnom uglu, aktivno je 15 minuta od zadnjeg posta. Svaki treci post ti je dupli, stalno ti spajam poruke, a vec sam ti nekoliko puta skrenuo paznju na to.

Zaista , knight , u pravu si ! sta je najgore nisam to ni primetio .
moje duboko izvinjenje jer sam vec izgleda presao granicu dobrog ukusa.
Vec sam jednom obecao da se to nece ponoviti , ali ovaj put sam se zaletio.
Ovaj forum smatram jednim od najboljih i najstrucnijih koji postoje na podrucju ex. yu
i verujem da sam steako puno drugara koji mi nece zameriti sta bgovorim iskreno iz srca.

Pametno je taj Gregor to zamislio - zahvaljujući sve modernijim metodama skidanja epoksija, saznao je šta je tačno u njegovom pojačalu; sada će tačan spisak elemenata, slike, pa i samo pojačalo da odnese kod nekog graditelja pojačala koji će mu, zahvalan što Gregor baš njemu dopušta da zaviri u "de-goopovan" Dumble, isto takvo pojačalo možda i džabe napraviti; originalnog Dumblea će prodati za ogromne pare, kupiti stan, pa će imati i stan i pojačalo koje radi kao Dumble!

Doduše, Dumble iz osamdesetih i to primerak tweakovan za Larryja Carltona - ali ipak nekakav Dumble.

Klasična fora - uzme se šema nekog pojačala, sve se lampe zamene FET tranzistorima, izbriše koji deo tu i tamo... Trimeri na drainovima, radi biasa, tako te stvari.

Zvuči dobro - ali ne zvuči baš-baš kao pojačalo. Poznatiji takvi dizajni su OLC Orange Peel, RunOffGroove Umble, Dr Boogey...

Umesto Dumble - Pojacalo Koje Nikada Necemo Imati uz manje filozofije a vise truda zasviracete i Vi na Dumble pojacalu.
Navedene adrese i autori su brand-irani, a Vi ako imate bilo kakav krs od Bassmena, Superreverba ili bilo koje poluispravno pojacalo, Dumble je operativan za nedelju dana za male pare (jer pomenuti krs sadrzi kutiju, sasiju, transformatore, elko, podnozja). Na vama je ostalo.
